I love using both Hypnotherapy and NLP with my clients! It really is one of the most rewarding things to watch a client arrive feeling anxious, worried or fearful and then leave feeling lighter, calmer and freer to live the life they really want. You may have heard of hypnotherapy before but I’ve given you a little more details about what it feels like and what it’s useful for. I’ve also given you some insight into NLP for those of you who like a little more detail.
Hypnotherapy is a very relaxing state of mind which you are guided into by a hypnotherapist. Also known as a trance like state which, is in fact an altered state of consciousness, people go into this state naturally every day! You may not be aware of it but as you drive to work, wash the dishes, walk the dog and you realise you are daydreaming – well it’s that but with your eyes closed.
You, the client, are in control at all times during the session and you will still be able to hear my voice guide you into a wonderful relaxing experience. This deep relaxation allows me to work with both your conscious and sub-conscious mind to make the changes we have discussed and agreed beforehand.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) – what’s it all about?
Well if we consider that the world is what you think it is, would it not be a good idea to understand how you do the thinking bit? NLP is frequently known as the “user’s manual for your mind” and studying NLP gives us insights into how our thinking patterns can affect every aspect of our lives. It looks at the way in which we think and process our thoughts. Being a Practitioner in NLP allows me to help you understand how you create the world you currently live in and from there decide how you want that to change?
NLP is an extremely useful tool for Life Coaching as the very words you say, the way you say them, the pictures you create can feel very real. Allowing my clients to uncover this and see for themselves how their life is constructed is very empowering and from here many choices open up to them.
NLP can also be used very effectively for patterns of repeat behaviour including fears, phobias, anxiety, cravings, relationship issues, lack of confidence, sports performance to name but a few. From eating 20 bags of crisps a day to not being able to step out of bed for fear of seeing a spider, I’ve helped clients remove these thought processes and free up their minds to get on with the real stuff……….like living a life worthwhile so don’t be stuck in the loop of repeat behaviour.
